Affected by the current epidemic and lockdown measures, the New South Wales government in Australia has announced the cancellation of the 2021 Sydney Light and Music Festival.

This year's Sydney Light and Music Festival was originally planned to be held from August 6 to 28. The government had previously rescheduled it to September 17 to October 9 due to a new round of outbreaks in NSW in mid-June. However, due to the uncertainty brought about by the epidemic, the government finally decided to cancel the 2021 Sydney Light and Music Festival. The event is currently scheduled to return from May 27 to June 18, 2022.
During a recent announcement, NSW Tourism Minister, Stuart Ayres, expressed his disappointment at having to cancel the Sydney Light and Music Festival for the second year in a row. However, he emphasized that the safety and well-being of the public remains the top priority. Therefore, it was necessary to make the responsible decision of informing the public ahead of time about the cancellation of the event. Despite the unfortunate situation, Ayres believes that it is essential to take all necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of the people.
According to Ayres, the upcoming Sydney Light Festival in 2022 is expected to shine brighter than ever before. This is due to the enthusiastic participation of artists and creative industries, who are eager to showcase their performances to the public. Moreover, the people are eagerly waiting to witness the spectacular sight of Sydney Harbour shining once again.

Since its inception in 2009, the Sydney Music and Light Festival has become the biggest festival of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. This festival showcases the best of music, lighting and conceptual art every year from May to June and is widely popular across Australia. With its unique features and increasing popularity, it has firmly established itself as one of the most sought-after events in the country.
